Your Feedback Is Important To Us (Really, It Is)

At Stitch, customers come first. We listen to the needs and concerns of our Stitchers and always change our services accordingly.

Yep, you heard it right. Unlike other websites, we actually listen to you. Every time.

We have received thousands of emails from our users with feedback, and we have weekly meetings to discuss how to best improve our services to accommodate our users’ needs and desires.

stitch customer feedbackThe Stitch team is small in size, which is why we love making you a part of our process. We understand we are a young team, and although we trust our amazing Stitch advisor Ken Solin, we want to hear from you about this time in your life so that we can better understand your hopes and desires. Because of you, our Stitch community keeps growing, and we continue to see more and more matches made everyday!

Since the beginning of Stitch, our team has made several improvements to our services – all thanks to you.

Here are a just few examples of how your requests have changed us (for the better!):

1) You smelled something fishy

stitch customer feedbackWe have made it our mission to prevent scammers and con artists as best as we can from utilizing our services. At first, we crosschecked our users’ credit cards and photo IDs to ensure their identities were honest. While this was quite a safe system compared to other sites, some scammers seemed to slip through the cracks. You noticed some fishy profiles, so we went the extra mile to ensure our Stitch community was kept safe.

Now, we require that our verified users also provide their Social Security number (or passport number, if outside the U.S.). This is just an additional step to the verification process that helps us keep Stitch open to only honest companionships.

Thanks to you, we are now an even safer community, fighting off all those pesky scammers!

2) Distance isn’t a problem after all

Recently, we added a whole new feature to our website per your request. Since Stitch local browsing is only available in select areas, many of you asked that we open up Stitching at a distance. Some of our users travel frequently and don’t mind going a little extra distance for the right companion; others simply wanted someone to talk with over the phone. Whatever the case, you proposed the idea – and what a great idea it was!

Now, Long-Distance Stitching is open for all Stitchers. If you haven’t signed up yet, give it a whirl! All you have to do is get verified and then choose “more than 100 mi away” in your Settings.

Since opening up Long-Distance Stitching, we have heard countless success stories from happy Stitchers – who knew? Guess there are companions waiting around every corner!

3) You wanted more choices

You have also helped us make browsing for companions more fun and organized.

At first, we offered you just two buttons when browsing – “Interested” and “Maybe later”. Then we made design improvements with thumbs up and thumbs down icons.

But you let us know that this only makes things more confusing. Furthermore, you expressed to us that these two options just weren’t enough – another button to indicate “Not interested” when browsing would make the process much easier.

After hearing this feedback, that’s when we decided to change our browsing feature to give you the choices you want:

We are grateful that you have helped us make browsing more clear and exciting – and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. Now, we have seen more successful Stitches than ever before.

We hope we continue to receive more feedback from you in the future, and we can’t wait to see where your comments take us next!

4)  Private calling? (yes, on the phone!)

Whoever thought phone calls were old-fashioned was surely mistaken. Our Stitch Secure Phone Line is one of our best features – it allows you to communicate with other Stitchers through a private, secure line without releasing any of your personal contact information.

The reason we have decided to go against the grain and add this unique feature is because of you! Our users told us they would feel more comfortable talking to their Stitches over the phone before meeting them in person. And we agree! Of course, we want to make sure your contact information is secure at all times – you shouldn’t have to give your number to a perfect stranger (no matter how nice their profile picture is)! You should only give a Stitch your personal information when you feel 100% comfortable doing so.

That’s why we created our secure line, so you don’t have to feel rushed into meeting with a potential companion. To access this feature, all you have to do is put your phone number in your search criteria under settings (this number will never be revealed to any other Stitcher) and you’re all set!

Phil, our Head of Engineering, saying “thank you”!

As you can see, you have made a world of difference in Stitch’s journey. We certainly could not have had our success without all of your helpful feedback.

A big thank you to those of you who have stuck with us from the very beginning and to those who have just joined the Stitch community – it’s your enthusiasm and involvement that keeps us excited moving forward. Your feedback is much appreciated by all of us here at Stitch. And with that we say, “Keep it comin’!”

If you have any feedback you would like to share, please feel free to leave it in the comments section below. Or, email us at

Please do not design the Stitch web site like Zoosk. The Zoosk site does two things that are bad: 1. they play games with “Zoosk coins” for various activities; and 2. they show a picture (without access to the associated profile) and ask for ones interest (based only on the picture).

    1. Andrew Dowling

      Hi Ken,

We’re certainly trying not to! If you look at our new browse page you’ll see we try to emphasize each member’s entire personality on the profile, so you’re not choosing based on something superficial like a picture (or age, which is what many other sites do). Let us know what you think!

  2. Desiree

    Hi Andrew,
I have always been a Limited Member and was suddenly surprised when I could no longer make comments on events. I got the reply that my Limited membership had expired and I now have to upgrade to Premium membership. When I looked up information about the membership it said I may enjoy free membership for as long as I like, so was confused when my Limited membership was suspended. I also read on a link I received that I can still access profiles on Limited membership, but I don’t think that is the case.
I look forward to your comments.
    Thanks and kind regards,

    1. Andrew Dowling

      Hi Desiree,

Apologies about the confusion (and the delay in responding to your email — our offices have been flooded over the last couple of days so things are a little crazy here!). You are definitely still free to continue your free Limited membership as long as you like, and you should be able to use it to view profiles — if you select the “Profiles” button from the Stitch home page you should still see that you can view other members’ profiles. What has changed is that we’re now enforcing that members need to be Full community members in order to attend Stitch events and activities, as it is the membership fees which allow us to keep the Stitch community running. Hope this clarifies things for you — and if you find you can’t view profiles, please contact the Stitch support team and they’ll be happy to help you out.

Thanks Andrew. Your message has been clarified.

        Kind regards,

I sent a previous message and forgot to tick the box below, so have just done so now.

    Hi Andrew,
Sorry, just one more comment about the Limited Membership. It probably needs to stipulate that the membership is only a trial one, and is valid for 1 month. I think that is where the confusion came in that it does not state any of that information.

It seems impossible to load photos to the stitch website from my mobile – Microsoft Lumia – an irritation as I don’t often get near a computer.

    1. Andrew Dowling

      Hi J,

Sorry to hear that! Could you send an email to the Stitch support team with the details of your phone (including version of the operating system) they’ll be able to look into this issue for you.

  6. Jill

Hi am a social impact advisor and would be happy to do session on working in social impact fields if there is interest. jill

Thanks for reaching out. Would be happy to chat to you about this, would you be able to send us an email and we can talk to you about it directly?
