With 2018 coming to a close, now seems the perfect time to take a moment to reflect on what we accomplished this year, and to give thanks to those who supported and helped us achieve our goals in 2018.
Our wonderful Stitch members
First and foremost, to all our Stitch members both long-standing and new … THANK YOU!
We know that without every single one of you, there’d be no Stitch.
Thank you for your guidance, advice, encouragement (and yes, even your complaints) throughout 2018. Your encouragement and feedback is what inspires us to keep improving the Stitch web site and app and what drives us to keep growing and building our communities around the world.
A special mention to our Community Champions around the world who dedicate so much of their time to building their local communities, one Stitch member at a time.
Your enthusiasm and willingness to organize and host events, create new discussions in our online forums, and set up groups is awe-inspiring.
You may not realize it, but you are enriching the lives of so many of our community members, in more profound ways than the Stitch team ever can. We learn from you every day, and we know that without you, we would be nowhere.
The Stitch Community in 2018
In 2018, the Stitch community held over 1,500 activities and events in over 500 locations around the world!
Stitch cities included Sacramento, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Saratoga Springs, Gosford, London, Sydney and Melbourne to name just a few.
How amazing is that?
You already know that Stitch is a community built by members, for members. There is no better example of Stitch’s community spirit than this year’s 2018 Global Get-Together in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Community Champion Regina, along with Stitch members Susan, Hawkeye, Gina, Richard and Joey, organized a memorable weekend of fun, festivities and socializing, with Stitch members travelling from over a dozen US states to attend.
I was lucky enough to attend the Saratoga Get-Together myself, and make some incredible new friends both there and at Stitch events in San Francisco, Oakland, New York and London. (You can read about that amazing trip here.)
More recently, the Stitch team held its annual Christmas Party in Sydney … and what a turn out that was. Over 150 members visited us at our offices for food, drink and dancing!
Here’s a little video we created of some of the highlights of Stitch in 2018.
We can’t wait to see what 2019 brings. See you in the new year!
